Genap obtains German WHG certificate

Genap has been certified as "Fachbetrieb nach Wasserhaushaltgesetz" (WHG) in Germany with effect from 28.04.2021.

What is WHG?

To be able to work in Germany on storage systems for environmentally hazardous substances, a 'Fachbetrieb nach WHG' certificate is needed to be allowed to carry out the work. These activities include assembling, commissioning, cleaning and covering these systems. These systems are pre-designated as subject to WHG and are to be inspected and released by an expert (Sachverständiger / Gutachter).

Examples of these systems are tanks with the storage of environmentally hazardous substances, such as slurry, biomass, waste water, fuels and oil. The leakage of such substances into the soil can have far-reaching negative consequences for the surroundings and the environment. For Genap, this WHG obligation mainly relates to work that we carry out on biogas and slurry storage systems.

What does this certificate mean outside Germany?

The environmental requirements set by Germany are currently stricter than in other countries. With this certificate, Genap proves that it meets the highest international quality standards. The required experience and insights for this certification can of course also be applied in other countries.
