Genap steel silo´s ...

Silo applications

  • storage of rain and drainage water
  • storage of industrial liquids
  • buffer storage during soil cleaning projects
  • temporary work place or storage place for materials
  • biological sand, lava or compost filter
  • nursery reservoir for fish nurseries, or even as a swimming pool!

Production of the silo
The galvanized steel plates are cut off the steel roll and curved and punched in an automatic production line. The curved plates are then brought to the correct diameter. This flexible method of production allows a large range of diameters to be produced, so that the most efficient arrangement can be made for each project.

The silo quality
Not only are the final products subjected to a strict quality control but the whole process is ISO certified. The silos are given a certificate issued in accordance with the German standard from the Ministry of Construction (Prüfbescheid no. 11. B3-543-693)

Construction of the silo
Genap supplies an illustrated instruction manual with the silo that is easy to follow so that assembly in both the Netherlands and abroad can be carried out correctly.

The silo specifications
The silo is distinguished in particular by its quality, rigidity and mechanical strength. The steel plates used for the silo have a zinc layer of 20 µm on each side and a high tensile strength (S 280 GD) in accordance with DIN-10147. The durable assembly materials are treated with high quality Zincrolyte passification. This protection guarantees a very high resistance to corrosion.

Coated silos
The silo plates are coated on both sides with a Plastisol coating, RAL 6009 (dark green) with layer thickness of 200 µm (4 times the standard coating thickness!) which is applied in one production process. What is special about this Duplex coating is that all harmful substances have been omitted, and that it extends the lifetime of a silo by as much as 25-30 years. Practical tests carried out using this coating lasting 10 years have shown that there was no corrosion of the Plastisol coating during that period. Because of this and other evidence it may be assumed that a lifetime of 25-30 years is very likely.

As well as the standard silos it is also possible to choose for a partial coating (of the bottom ring) or a complete coating.
