Silo cover systems
Once the silo has been fully lined the anti-algae sheet must not be forgotten. After all, who would not want to protect their costly water against the growth of algae and pollution? While the water is stored it becomes polluted by the growth of algae with the result that irrigation systems become blocked with all the consequent problems this can cause. Genap has a number of solutions for this in its range. These cover systems provide an adequate solution for preventing the growth of algae, also prevent evaporation, and to a large extent prevent the water from becoming dirty.

Anti-algae sheet from banded fabric
This is still the most commonly known solution available for silos both set up inside or outside, either as tensioned sheet or floating sheet. The sheets are made from Genatex 700, an open banded fabric that allows water to penetrate but keeps dirt and light out.

Floating sheet for silos set up outside
The floating sheet can be used for all silos with a diameter of 1.85 metres up to 30.95 metres. The sheet fits in the silo and has a strengthened edge with rings (height 50 cm) for the attachment. A PVC tubular rack, ø 63 mm (not supplied) has to be made on which the sheet can be tensioned.

Tensioned sheet for silos set up inside
The tensioned sheet can be used for all silos set up inside with a diameter of 1.85 metres up to 30.95 metres. The sheet is supplied oversize with a strengthened edge with rings (height 50 cm) for the attachment. The sheet is stretched over the silo and fitted to the outside of the silo with a cord for tensioning. We supply two types, one with and one without sheet hooks (which are used to attach the cord).

Airfloat
Airfloat floating sheets for water silos are made from 2-layered black blister padded foil. The non-porous material is used as floating cover, so preventing the growth of algae, wave formation and evaporation are strongly reduced and there will be no growth of moss or other plants on the cover.

The floating sheet is fixed on a tubular frame (to be supplied by third parties) using special clamps. Special water sacks are supplied to act as ballast for the sheet. The big advantage compared with the floating sheet made from banded fabric is that no moss and/or growth of other plants will take place on your protective cover sheet. As well as this the sheet does not have to be turned over. It must though be kept frost free.

Silofloat ® - Anti-Algae solution for silos
