Combination seals
A combined bottom seal consists of two or more sealing layers.
In all cases HDPE 2.0mm plastic foil in a possible combination with:
We have experience with all the sealing methods named above.
Genap applies a combined seal by, for example, when using waste incinerator slag as secondary construction material or when constructing a rubbish dump.
According to the Rubbish dump decree, rubbish dumps should be sealed with a combination seal so that the environment is protected from the strongly polluted percolation water that forms in a rubbish dump. As well as this the environmental legislation states that waste incinerator slag may be used in the infrastructure sector, provided that no polluting substances can be leached out of the waste incinerator slag.
In order to protect the ground and the environment a combined seal should be applied.

Genap has constructed various rubbish dumps both in the Netherlands and abroad. A special project that has just been completed is the De Mesiner rubbish dump at Ubbena (near to Assen). Here, an ingenious combined top seal has been applied, whereby a lifetime of 100 years is hoped for!
Genap has “packaged“ waste incinerator slag at a number of projects (A4 Hoofddorp-Schiphol and N31 Drachten). A bentonite mat (mineral clay layer) of Bentomat SS100 CL02 was laid first, followed by Genaseal 20 HDPE 2 mm foil.
If you are interested we are always willing to come and present the possibilities of a combined seal to you, or to discuss a waterproof and environmentally-friendly solution with you.
